The Sliver Seas, I hadn’t really heard of them, just entered a competition on the O2 Islington facebook page and I won…woohoo. Sadly I couldn’t actually find anyone to take up my plus one, oh well; I ventured out on my own again. I bet if it would have been a better know artist or a larger venue I would have had no problem finding willing volunteers.
I arrived late at the O2 Islington, but it wasn’t busy, just a few people making the place look untidy.
The support Charlene Soraia came on and although she tried really hard she couldn’t get the crowd to participate, it must have been quite demoralising for her.
More people had arrived by the time the Silver Sea’s came on, they started with the song “somebody said your name”, and later on the also played “Jane” which of course was written for my daughter (I can dream)!  I did really enjoy the show, they guys had loads of energy and good vibes and the sound was brilliant. I managed to get hold of the set list and even a couple of signatures. They are playing again on the 6th March 2012 at the Borderline, but I have a sneaky feeling I may be away, on my epic Snow Patrol tour……!

About FrontRowStef

Following months of putting in the necessary hours of research, I have been bullied into writing a blog about my gig experiences! I can’t claim in-depth technical musical knowledge, or a massive CD collection, but, I know what I like and what doesn’t sound good in a live setting. I’m not intending to write great reviews about bands, but more of stuff that happen to me while out and about. Like when a dear friend of mine pointed out that it looks like I’m putting my towel down when I hit the barriers at the front and claim my spot with my jacket draped over the railings. What does he mean? Is it because I’m German? Enough introductions, you will get to know me sooner or later! Oh and apparently I’m going to be referred to as Front Row Stef, simply because that is my rightful place!
